Quick Engine Change (QEC)

Does FAA have an official definition of QEC?

ANSWER: The FAA does not have a definition for QEC, however engine manufacturers do. For example:

GE defines full QEC engine as and engine ready for installation, including basic engine hardware, all buyer furnished equipment, quick engine change hardware and, depending on engine model, exhaust nozzle and inlet cowl.

Rolls Royce defines QEC as a basic engine plus electrical system, fuel, oil and air systems.
