FAA Form 8130-1 Part II - Application for Approval of Aeronautical Parts

by John Stevens
(Dothan, Alabama)

Since Class II articles are no longer existing per the last regulation change, when is Part II of the FAA Form 8130-1 required to be filled out?

ANSWER: The regulation change removed the requirement for an application to be made for exporting aviation articles. A simple phone call to the FAA or a DAR is all that is necessary to request an inspection for export.

Part II of the form is no longer used, so I suspect a new version of the form will be published soon that will remove this part.
