Exporting TSO Articles

We are the Technical Standard Order (TSO) holder of a product, shipping an article to an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) overseas in Brazil.

Is an FAA Form 8130-3 tag required to go with these units or just the Certification of Conformance (C of C) that we normally ship with a product to OEM's for non-exports?

ANSWER: Refer to AC 21-2K, Appendix 2 for Brazilian import requirements. There are certain criteria that must be met before an article (TSO or other) can be imported.

Typically if you import an article to install on an aircraft it must be export certification in the form of an FAA Form 8130-3.

However, the way I read the requirements, your C of C should be sufficient if going to an OEM, but the TSO'd article would have to be validated by ANAC.
